Christians: Is Gandhi going to hell because he wasn't a Christian?

Atheists are always welcome too! Bible says that Christ is the light and the way. It has been said that Gandhi was the most Christ-like man in our century. If this is so, and he wasn't a Christian, is he still damned for not believing in Jesus (in you opinion)? Answers like God doesn't exist spoil all the fun, so if one of you say this, let's not all answer this way.
