Is Scarlet Fever still deadly?

My four year old sister has been having this red rash on her body since Monday, and at night she's been coming down with a fever. Her body temperature feels really warm, but when we check the thermometer, it shows her normal temperature. We asked her if she has a sore throat, but she says no. I'm guessing she said so because she hates going to the doctors. xD
