HELP! My turtle laid 1 egg and nipped it. Now inactive in potting soil. Am I doing something wrong?

She could have just one egg, especially if this is her first clutch. For future clutches, I would suggest a ramp leading from her tank to a container of potting soil, with walls to insure that she doesn't go anywhere else. The ramp and container can double as a basking site.
