How can I improve my southern accent(Texan) accent?

Mine has been getting thicker over the past year or so. Only reasons I can come up with are I've been listening to Ray Wylie Hubbard, watching some shows that are set in the older days of America, and I've been taking an interest in Southern history. Hanging out with some hicks, rednecks, and older folks (grandparents) probably had a lot to do with it, too.
