I kinda like anime ^_^?

I like anime, but never got into it, I usually watch what was on Cartoon Net. (DBZ, Naruto, Ruroni Kenshin). But I never got into any other anime, cause it's normally an underground thing right? only anime fans know it. Well... could you tell me of any of the better anime? Im a starter, so show me somthing that I would like (not too goofy and not too gory)
